Cliche Story: All's Fair in Love and War

Life isn’t fair. It never is. Don’t listen to those who say otherwise. Therefore, neither is war. And love is overrated anyway. So, I don’t like either.

I was 17 when they dragged me from my home, injected me in the crook of my elbow and sent me out to fight the ones on the other side. Apparently ‘they’ had found a crack in the wall. Which honestly, didn’t seem likely. That wall had lasted for centuries, so why in the forest would it break now? After being on the frontlines for over two years, I fell in love. With the sheer thrill of the fight. And let me tell you. It was not worth it.

To be continued….
